Lady Bulldogs pick up first North Division win in split with Northeast; fall twice to Itawamba

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs split two games here Wednesday with the Northeast Mississippi Community College Lady Tigers, winning 5-1 and falling 8-1.

With the split, the Lady Bulldogs went to 4-18 on the season and 1-3 in the North Division. The Lady Bulldogs host the Northwest Mississippi Community College Lady Rangers on Saturday at noon.

In game one, Kelsey Marter picked up the win pitching a complete game and giving up four hits, one run striking out four and walking one. Keana Wash, Victoria Hunt, Charneissa Gordon and Lauren Tharp each had a hit in the game.

In game two, Katie Johnston suffered the loss pitching four innings giving up six runs on five hits striking out four and walking one. The Lady Bulldogs went hitless in game two.

Against Itawamba last Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs fell 3-0 and 5-2.

In game one, Marter pitched six innings givnig up four hits and three runs striking out two. Karina Brown, Hunt, Gregory and Johnston each had hits.

In game two, Johnston suffered the loss in 4 2/3 innings giving up five runs on eight hits striking out two and walking two. Gregory, Gordon, Samantha Meadows, Marter and Tharp each had a hit with Gordon and Meadows each having a double.
