Lady Bulldogs take two from Northeast Lady Tigers; go 3-1 versus NE in season series
BOONEVILLE--- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up two big North Division wins here Tuesday afternoon over the Northeast Mississippi Community College Lady Tigers, 5-2 and 5-1 to go to 7-5 in the North Division.
With the wins, the Lady Bulldogs improved to 13-23 overall. Holmes travels to Northwest on Saturday in a doubleheader at 12/2 p.m.
In game one, Kelsey Marter pitched five innings and gave up seven hits and two runs striking out four. Katie Johnston got the save going two innings and giving up only one hit striking out two. Keana Wash led the Lady Bulldogs with two hits while Victoria Hunt, Samantha Meadows, Kaitlyn Hicks and Karina Brown each had one hit.
In game two, Marter picked up another win. She threw a complete game and gave up one run on six hits and struck out two. Charneissa Gordon, Meadows, Katherine Pennington and Brown each had two hits with Pennington having two doubles and Gordon adding another.
