Lady Bulldogs continue their push to the postseason with two big wins over Coahoma, 14-5 and 8-4

CLARKSDALE --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs went to 18-24 overall and 14-8 in the North Division after picking up two wins, 14-5 and 8-4, here on Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs host the Lady Lions of East Mississippi on Tuesday in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.

In game one, Kelsey Marter picked up the win. Marter pitched four innings and gave up two runs on four hits and struck out five. Kelsey Rogers pitched one inning and struckout two and gave up three runs on three hits. Keana Wash and Charneissa Gordon each had two hits with Gordon having a homerun and a double. Michelle Gregory, Alecia McDaniel and Katherine Pennington each had a hit with McDaniel having a double.

In game two, Katie Johnston got the win. She pitched five innings and gave up three runs on eight hits striking out five and walking one. Kelsey Marter pitched one inning and gave up one run on two hits striking out two. McDaniel led the Lady Bulldogs with two hits inlcuding a double. Wash, Gordon, Pennington, Kaitlyn Hicks and Samantha Meadows each had a hit with Wash having a homerun.
