Lady Bulldogs split with Lady Lions, 5-1 and 4-3

SCOOBA --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs had their chances here Wednesday to take two games from the East Mississippi Community College Lady Lions but came up short in game two, 4-3, after winning game one, 5-1.

With the split, the Lady Bulldogs went to 17-9 overall and 10-6 in the North Division. The Lady Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, April 8 for a 2/4 p.m. doubleheader versus Itawamba. Holmes then plays Northwest on April 11 at 12/2 p.m.

Kassey Ard picked up the win in game one. She went seven innings and gave up one run on three hits with seven strikeouts and two walks. Blair Little and Lindsey Robbins each had two hits while Robbins, Anna Garza and Charlesy Lovorn doubled. Lovorn picked up three RBI in game one.

Little suffered the loss in game two going six innings. She gave up four runs on five hits and struck out five. Kelsey Kelly, A'Breana Yarbrough, Reagan Aldridge and Rachel Bond each had two hits with Yarbrough adding a triple. Lovorn hit a solo homerun.
