North Division No. 4 seed Holmes to face South Division No. 1 seed Jones tomorrow in the playoffs

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs head to the MACJC State Playoffs tomorrow in a best-of-three series at Jones County Junior College.

Holmes, 21-14 overall and 14-10 in the North Division, comes into the playoffs as the North Division No. 4 seed while Jones, 37-2 overall and 24-2 in the South Division, comes in as the South Division No. 1. Friday's game is set for 4 p.m. Saturday's second game is scheduled for noon with game three, if necessary, to follow game two. You can watch all the games versus Jones at jcjc.tv.

Holmes has eight players batting over .300. Batting averages include: Kassey Ard, 1.000; A'Breana Yarbrough, .436; Kelsey Kelly, .402; Shelby Hoover, .333; Blair Little, .333; Hayden Grantham, .321; Charlesy Lovorn, .316; and Lindsey Robbins, .311. As a team, the Lady Bulldogs are batting .321.

Yarbrough leads the team in hits with 48 while Kelly has 43, Grantham has 35 while Little and Anna Garza have 27. Kelly leads in runs scored with 36 and Yarbrough has 30. Little leads the team in doubles with 12 while Kelly and Grantham each have 10. Yarbrough and Kelly each lead with three triples. Grantham leads in homeruns with five while Kelly has four and Lovorn has three.

Ard is the leading pitcher for the Lady Bulldogs with a 1.39 earned run average while Little has a 2.99 ERA, Brett Whitlock had a 5.10 ERA and Reagan Aldridge has a 7.64 ERA. Ard is 11-6, Little is 6-7, Whitlock is 3-1 and Aldridge is 1-0. Ard leads with 105 2/3 innings pitched followed by Little with 84 1/3 innings pitched. Holmes has a team ERA of 2.52.

Jones has 13 players batting over .300. Jones has a team ERA of 1.40.
