Lady Bulldogs split with Baton Rouge and Hinds

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs split two games with the Lady Bears of Baton Rouge Community College here Saturday. Holmes won game one, 7-3, and fell in the second game, 6-4.

In game one, Kassey Ard went seven innings and gave up two runs on six hits with five strikeouts and one walk and picked up the win. Rachel Bond led the Lady Bulldogs with three hits including a triple. Darrien Dykes and Abby Stafford had two hits each.

In game two, Blair Little went five innings and gave up five runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and one walk and suffered the loss. Reagan Aldridge went two innings and gave up one run on one hit with two strikeouts. Torey Daniels and Micah red each had two hits with Daniels adding a double. Little added a double.

With the split, the Lady Bulldogs went to 15-21-1 and 9-15 in the MACJC. Holmes travels to Itawamba on April 13 for a 3/5 p.m. doubleheader and travels to Pearl River on April 16 for a 12/2 p.m. doubleheader.

At Hinds on Friday, the Lady Bulldogs split two MACJC Conference games with the Lady Eagles. Hinds won game one, 5-4, and the Lady Bulldogs won game two, 9-5.

In game one, Kassey Ard went the entire game and gave up five runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and one walk and suffered the loss. Darrien Dykes led the Lady Bulldogs with three hits and Blair Little added a homerun.

In game two, Little went the entire seven innings and gave up five runs on 11 hits with four strikeouts and one walk and picked up the win. Little led with a homerun while Kaleia Lillis had a triple and Bayle Bryant had a double.
