GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up a 10-4 win here today versus the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers in softball action.
With the win, the Lady Bulldogs went to 2-1 on the season. Holmes plays at Hinds on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Lady Bulldogs play Bossier, La. at 11 a.m. and then play Hinds at 1 p.m. On Saturday, Holmes plays Bossier, La. at 11 a.m. and then Mississippi Delta at 1 p.m.
In today's game with Northwest, the Lady Bulldogs fell behind in the second inning after Northwest went up 3-1 after a 1-1 tie in the first inning. The Lady Bulldogs then tied the game at three in the bottom of the third. The Lady Bulldogs scored seven runs to Northwest's one in the final four frames to pull out the win.
Madison Frazier picked up the win for the Lady Bulldogs on the mound. She went 5 2/3 innings and gave up one run on three hits with one strikeout. Kaitlyn Warren started the game and gave up three runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings. Madison Fields had four hits in five at bats while Jasmine Cox and Emily Littlejohn each had three hits while Torey Daniels had two. Daniels had a triple while Cox and Littlejohn each doubled.
