Holmes splits with Pearl River, 2-0 and 0-7

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs capped off the 2016-17 season Monday with a doubleheader split with Pearl River Community College winning game one 2-0 and falling in  game two, 7-0.

The Lady Bulldogs ended the season 13-29 overall and 9-19 in the MACJC.

In game one, Meghan Cumming hit a two-run bomb over the centerfield wall in the sixth inning to give the Lady Bulldogs the win. Karley Poindexter got the start on the mound and gave up three hits with two strikeouts. Cumming pitched two innings and gave up one hit with one strikeout and picked up the win. Torey Daniels led the Lady Bulldogs with two hits while Micah Redd added a double.

In game two, Cumming got the start and went 3 1/3 innings and suffered the loss. She gave up four runs on six hits with two strikeouts. Kaitlyn Warren went 1 1/3 innings and gave up one run on three hits with one strikeout and one walk. Madison Frazier went 1 1/3 innings and gave up one run on four hits while Juliet Warriner went one inning and gave up one run on two hits with one walk. Daniels and Olivia Wilson each had a hit.
