Lady Bulldogs pick up two wins over Co-Lin, 2-1 and 11-7

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up two wins here Tuesday versus the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Lady Wolves, 2-1 and 11-7, to improve to 2-2 on the season.

Holmes will travel to Miss. Delta on Monday at 1/3 and host Blue Mountain JV on Tuesday at 2/4. They'll play Marion Military and Shelton State in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Friday at 1/3 before finishing the week with LSU-Eunice on Sunday at 2/4 p.m. in Goodman.

In the first game Tuesday vs. Co-Lin, Madison Fields led the Lady Bulldogs with two hits including a double. Avery Thornton and Emily Littlejohn also added doubles in the contest. Allison Irby picked up the win to go to 1-1 on the season. She went seven innings and had four strikeouts.

In game two, Fields led the Lady Bulldogs with three hits while Aubree McWilliams, Courtney Hatcher and Becca Kennedy each had two. McWilliams had two doubles in the game while Fields, Madison Frazier and Hatcher each had one.

Katie Lawrence picked up the win to go to 1-1 on the season while Juliet Warriner picked up the save. Lawrence went five innings and gave up six runs on five hits with one strikeout and one walk. Warriner went two innings and gave up one run on four hits with one strikeout.

Against Southwest on Feb. 2, the Lady Bulldogs fell 3-2 and 14-4 in the season openers.

McWilliams led the Lady Bulldogs with two hits while Thornton added a double. Irby suffered the loss.

In game two, Cailee Arender, Thornton and Jana Newell each had two hits. Abby Bouslay added at triple while Hatcher had a double. Lawrence suffered the loss. Warriner, Madison Frazier and Brooklyne Eubanks also saw action from the mound.
