Lady Bulldogs fall to 2-2 in the MACJC

GULFPORT --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs fell to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in the MACJC Conference here today after dropping two to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College at Harrison Central High School.

In game one, Allison Irby got the start and went 5 2/3 innings giving up four runs on six hits with one strikeout and one walk. Brooklyne Eubanks went 1/3 of an inning. Madison Fields and Cailee Arender each had two hits with both adding triples.

In game two, Katie Lawrence got the start and 1 2/3 innings. She gave up eight runs on seven hits with one strikeout. Juliet Warriner went 1 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on four hits with one strikeout and two walks. Eubanks went one inning.

In games on Friday, the Lady Bulldogs opened MACJC play with two wins over Coahoma, 12-5 and 13-8.

In game one, Irby got the start and went 4 2/3 innings. She gave up five runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Madison Frazier went 1 1/3 innings and gave up two hits with one strikeout and one walk. Juliet Warriner went one inning and gave up three hits with one strikeout. Courtney Hatcher led the Lady Bulldogs with three hits including a grand slam homerun. Jana Newell, Avery Thornton, Aubree McWilliams and Cailee Arender each had two hits. McWilliams and Arender added triples while McWilliams, Abby Bouslay, Newell and Thornton added doubles.

In game two, Lawrence got the start and went five innings giving up five runs on four hits with five strikeouts. Kaitlyn Warren went one inning and had one strikeout. Hatcher led the Lady Bulldogs with four hits including three doubles. Madison Fields and Emily Littlejohn each had three hits with Fields and Littlejohn having two doubles. Thornton and Bouslay had two hits with Bouslay adding a three-run homerun while Thornton had a double.
