Lady Bulldogs split two games with Southwest

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs improved to 10-6 overall and 3-3 in the MACJC after splitting a doubleheader with Southwest here Friday.

Holmes will return to action on March 18 versus Jones County in Ellisville at 2/4 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs will return home on March 21 at 3/5 p.m. versus East Mississippi.

In game one, Katie Lawrence picked up the win going seven innings and gave up eight hits with two strikeouts and one walk. Courtney Hatcher and Emily Littlejohn each had doubles.

In game two, Allison Irby suffered the loss. She went five innings and gave up seven runs on 10 hits with one strikeout and two walks. Madison Frazier went one inning and had one strikeout while Juliet Warriner went one inning and gave up three runs on four hits. Abby Bouslay led the Lady Bulldogs with three hits while Jana Newell and Hatcher each had two. Aubree McWilliams and Avery Thornton each had doubles.
