Lady Bulldogs split with Lady Wildcats

POPLARVILLE --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs split two games here Sunday with the Pearl River Community College Lady Wildcats, falling 8-0 in game and winning game two, 10-0.

With the split, the Lady Bulldogs went to 15-16 overall and 7-13 in the MACJC. Holmes hosts Mississippi Delta Tuesday for a 3/5 p.m. doubleheader. They then host Hinds on Friday at 2/4 p.m. and Arkansas State University at 1/3 p.m. on Saturday.

In game one, Katie Lawrence went 1 1/3 innings and gave up seven runs on four hits with three walks. Brooklyne Eubanks went 3 2/3 innings and gave up three hits with two strikeouts while Juliet Warriner went 1/3 of an inning and gave up one run on two hits. The Lady Bulldogs had seven hits in the game with no multiple hitters.

In game two, Allison Irby went five innings. She gave up two hits and no runs with one strikeout and one walk. Abby Bouslay led the Lady Bulldogs with three hits including a double. Courtney Hatcher had two hits while Avery Thornton added a two-run homerun and Emily Littlejohn added a double.
