Lady Bulldogs get back on winning trail defeating Southwest, 82-57
GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs went to 4-2 overall with a solid 82-57 victory here Monday over the Lady Bears of Southwest Mississippi Community College Bears.
Kierra Gilmore led the Lady Bulldog with 17 points while Amber Clay had 12, Jacquonna Young had 11 and Louise Collins had 10.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out early in the game on two three-pointers by Kierra and Dierra Gilmore to take a 6-0 lead. The lead increased to 13-1 with 16:38 in the first half. Southwest battled back with 6:39 to play to cut the lead to seven, 25-18.
The Lady Bears cut the lead to five points before the Lady Bulldogs went on a 24-8 run to end the half and held a 49-28 lead. The Lady Bulldogs then led as much as 27 points in the second half to pull out the 25-point victory.
