GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up a big North Division win here Monday night with a 71-64 victory over the Northwest Mississippi Community College Lady Rangers.
With the win, the Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-10 overall and 2-4 in the North. The Lady Bulldogs begin Round Two of the division schedule Thursday night as they travel to Scooba to play the East Mississippi Community College Lady Lions. Gametime is 5:30 p.m.
Holmes freshman point guard Tamia Grady scored 30 points in the game the hard way, with no three pointers attempted. She finished the game 9-of-12 from the floor and made 12-of-14 free throws. With Holmes playing with only seven players, Grady was exhausted by games' end.
The Lady Bulldogs led 38-29 at halftime and increased the lead to 13 points with 4:32 to play in the game. Denesha Dillard had 18 points including four three-pointers. Krystal Baker had eight rebounds while Dasha Adams and Jssica Miles each had seven.
