GOODMAN --- At the halfway point of the North Division contests, the Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs sit in fifth place at 2-4.
Holmes, 11-6 overall, defeated East Mississippi and Coahoma in division contests and fell to Mississippi Delta, Itawamba, Northwest and Northeast. Holmes defeated East Mississippi, 74-54, in Goodman and Coahoma, 91-61, in Clarksdale. The Lady Bulldogs fell to Northwest, 61-59, in Goodman; Itawamba, 85-79, in Fulton; Mississippi Delta, 82-78, in Goodman and Northeast, 64-63, in Booneville Monday.
The second half begins Thursday night in Senatobia as the Lady Bulldogs play the Northwest Mississippi Community College Lady Rangers at 5 p.m. Holmes hosts Coahoma on Monday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. and Itawamba on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. before traveling to Mississippi Delta on Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. and East Mississippi on Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs finish the regular season on Thursday, Feb. 19 at home versus Northeast at 6 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs will need an impressive run through the second half of the division schedule to make the MACJC State Tournament. The tournament will be held at the South Division Women's champion. Copiah-Lincoln has yet to lose a game this season and stand at 6-0 in the South Division.
