Three Lady Bulldogs receive postseason honors from the MACJC, Region XXIII

Three Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs recently received postseason honors from the MACJC and the NJCAA Region XXIII.

Aja Williams of Jackson was recently named First Team All-State by the MACJC and Carmesha Nalls of Lexington was named Second Team All-State from the MACJC. Nalls was also named to the 2015 All-Region XXIII Tournament Team for her play in last week's Region XXIII Tournament at Mississippi College.

Nalls and LaShonda Wilson of Indianola have been selected to play in the April 10 MACJC All-Star Game at East Central Community College.

For the season, Williams averaged 18 points per game. She also shot 39.8 percent from the floor, 31.3 percent from the three-point line and 70.8 from the free throw line. She pulled in 5.2 rebounds per game and had 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Nalls averaged 13.6 points per game. She shot 39.5 percent from the floor, 32.8 percent from the three-point line and 63.8 from the free throw line. She pulled in 4.1 rebounds per game and had 2.7 assists and 1.9 steals per game. Wilson averaged five points per game. She shot 35.9 percent from the floor and 58.5 percent from the free throw line. She pulled in 6.3 rebounds per game.
