Lady Bulldogs go to 5-3 in the North with win at Coahoma

CLARKSDALE --- A big second period spurred the Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs to a 76-59 win here Monday night over the Coahoma Community College Lady Tigers.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs went to 14-5 overall and 5-3 in the North Division. Holmes travels to Itawamba on Thursday at 6 p.m. The game can be watched live at letsgoicctv.com.

Coahoma led 10-9 after the first period before the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Tigers, 29-13, to lead 38-23 at halftime. Holmes then outscored Coahoma, 18-17, in the third and 20-19 in the fourth period to pull out the win.

Aja Williams led the Lady Bulldogs with 25 points while Tiffany Jones had 23.  Jones pulled in 17 rebounds.

Holmes shot 39.7 percent from the floor, 50 percent from the three-point line and 55 percent from the free-throw line. Coahoma shot 35 percent from the floor and 62.5 percent from the free-throw line.
