GOODMAN --- Fans got their money's worth in the season opener here Tuesday night as the Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs and the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Lady Wolves battling to two overtimes before Co-Lin squeaked out the 87-84 win.

Holmes led 15-13 after one period and 27-23 at halftime. The Lady Wolves then outscored the Lady Bulldogs 22-15 in the third to lead 45-42 after three periods. Holmes outscored Co-Lin in the fourth period 20-17 to finish regulation at 62. Each team scored 12 points in the first overtime before Co-Lin outscored the Lady Bulldogs 13-10 in the second overtime.
With 17 seconds left in regulation, the Lady Wolves led 62-57. Freshman guard Vaquela Pimpton hit a two-point bucket with 12 seconds to bring the Lady Bulldogs within three at 62-59. Then on the next possession Pimpton hit a big three-pointer with seven seconds to tie the game at 62 to head to the first overtime.
Co-Lin jumped out by four points at 66-62 in the first overtime. Co-Lin led 72-68 with 32 seconds left before the Lady Bulldogs begin fighting back. Kamelia Lacy hit one of three free throws with 23 seconds left to make it 72-69. She then hit two of three free throws with 10.5 seconds to play to make it 73-71. Co-Lin added a free throw to go up by three before Lacy hit a three with 1.2 seconds to play to tie it at 74.
The teams went back and forth in the second overtime. Sharaey Jefferson tied the game at 84 with 21 seconds left. Co-Lin then hit three free throws in the final 12 seconds to pick up the win.
