Lady Bulldogs lose heart breaker to Hinds, 64-63

GOODMAN --- Holmes Community College freshman guard Kamelia Lacy hit a three-pointer with less than 10 seconds to play to tie the game at 63 before the Hinds Community College Lady Bulldogs hit a free throw with 2.9 seconds to pull out the 64-63 win.

With the loss, Holmes fell to 1-3 on the season. Holmes travels to Southern University at Shreveport on Saturday at 2 p.m. The game can be heard on 101.1 FM or breezynews.com.

Hinds led 20-11 after one period of play and 38-30 at halftime. Holmes outscored Hinds 33-26 in the second half, but it wasn't enough.

MiKayla Patton led the Lady Bulldogs with 19 points while Lacy had 13 and Vaquela Pimpton had 10. Patton had eight rebounds and Lauren Brooks had seven.

Holmes shot 39.1 percent from the floor, 13.3 percent from the three-point line and 57.9 percent from the free-throw line. Hinds outrebounded Holmes 45-44 in the contest.
