Holmes will face Jones in the MACJC State Tournament

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs finished up the regular season strong and will go into the MACJC State Tournament as the North's No. 4 seed.

Holmes, who finished 10-12 overall and 6-6 in the North Division, will face the South Division's No. 1 team and No. 16 ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats, who finished 21-1 overall and 14-1 in the South Division, at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jones County Junior College. Holmes is led by freshman guard Kamelia Lacy, who is averaging 10.6 points per game. Freshman guard Vaquela Pimpton is averaging 10.1 points per game. As a team, the Lady Bulldogs are averaging 62.8 points per game and are shooting 35.1 percent from the floor, 25.5 percent from three-point range and 64.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Holmes is giving up 67.4 points per game.

Jones is led by freshman guard Alexis Tolefree, who is averaging 18.8 points per game. Freshman guard/forward Nique Cherry is averaging 12.1 points per game while freshman guard K.K. Tassin is averaging 11.8 points per game, sophomore guard Tatyana Lofton is averaging 11.3 points per game and sophomore forward/center Myyah West is averaging 11 points per game. As a team, the Lady Bobcats are averaging 79.6 points per game and are shooting 44.6 percent from the floor, 33.3 percent from the three-point line and 67.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Jones is giving up 59.26 points per game.
