Lady Bulldogs get 61-50 win over Baton Rouge Lady Bears

BATON ROUGE, La. --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-3 on the season here Thursday night with a 61-50 win over the Baton Rouge Community College Lady Bears, 61-50.

Holmes travels to Itawamba on Monday night at 6 p.m. to open North Division play. The team will not play again until Jan. 6 when they travel to Delgado Community College in New Orleans.

Holmes led 17-14 after one period and 32-23 at halftime. Holmes outscored the Lady Bears, 29-27, in the second half to preserve the win.

Kamelia Lacy led the Lady Bulldogs with 22 points while Vaquela Pimpton had 12 and Nina Carpenter had 11. Carpenter led with eight rebounds while Pimpton and Brittany Webster had seven each.

Holmes shot 44 percent from the floor (22-of-50) in the game.
