Lady Bulldogs will face LSUE Bengals in Region opener

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs will face the Louisiana State University-Eunice Bengals on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the opening round of the Region XXIII Tournament at Mississippi College in Clinton.

Holmes is 17-8 while LSUE 22-3. Holmes defeated Southwest in the opening round of the MACJC State Tournament before falling to Jones in the semi-finals. LSUE defeated Delgado on Feb. 28. You can listen to the game on breezynews.com or watch the game at holmesccmedia.com.

Holmes is led by sophomore guard Kamelia Lacy, who is averaging 12.9 points per game. Sophomore guard Vaquela Pimpton averages 10.1 points per game and sophomore forward Nina Carpenter is averaging 10 points per game. As a team, the Lady Bulldogs are averaging 65.9 points per game and are shooting 40 percent from the floor, 26.5 percent from three-point range and 65 percent from the free-throw line.

Holmes is giving up 59.64 points per game.

LSUE is led by sophomore guard/forward Rylie James, who is averaging 15 points per game. Freshman guard Arianna Dargin is averaging 12.4 points per game. As a team, the Bengals are averaging 78.7 points per game and are shooting 43.1 percent from the floor, 28.2 percent from the three-point line and 64.8 percent from the free-throw line.

LSUE is giving up 65.56 points per game.
