Holmes welcomes 12 into the 2017-18 class

The Holmes Lady Bulldogs welcome 12 into their 2017-2018 class.

Sarah Chastain
Madison Central High School
Center Mid/Center Back

"Sarah is a very versatile player that can help us anywhere in the center of the field. She has great size, a great work ethic, and reads the game incredibly well. We are expecting her to make in immediate impact!"

Brookelyn Cramer
Pensacola Catholic School
Center Back

"Brookelyn comes to us from Florida where she plays for a very competitive high school and club team, Gulf Coast Texans. Brookelyn is vocal and very intelligent. She is an extremely talented player and her toughness is second to none. We are expecting her to come in and be a key component in our back line next season. Brookelyn is a natural leader and these qualities will be expected of her even in her freshmen season!"

Nikki De La Garza
Milton High School
Left Back/ Left Winger

"Nikki is extremely quick and is very dynamic with the ball. As a defender she has great technique and is very physical. Whether she is at Left Back or Left Winger, she is extremely dangerous in the attack. Her work ethic is fantastic and she can simply get forward and back consistently for 90 minutes every game. Nikki will add a great element to our team in her freshmen season."

Tori Dubard
Grenada High School
Forward/Center Back

"Tori is a very fiery player! She works extremely hard and has a great vision of the field. She can play pretty much any position on the field besides the goal. We are excited to have her because we know she can fill in at any position to help us."

Pepper Ann Filbert
Brandon High School
Center Mid

"Pepper Ann is exactly what you want as a center midfielder.  She is very simple and very consistent. She sees the game a step faster than most. Her speed of play will be able to help us immediately. She is an incredibly intelligent player who will be excellent for us in the middle of the park!"

Taylor Gagneaux
Central Hinds Academy

"Taylor is a very dynamic attacker. She has great pace and it allows her to get in behind defenders. She is a finisher and strikes the ball very well. In high school Taylor scored 58 goals and added 23 assists. Taylor is fantastic in the final third and will help us in the attack right off the bat."

Kaitlyn Goza
Florence High School
Center Back

"Kaitlyn is a very aggressive defender and has incredible size. She is very good in the air and is able to organize a backline very effectively. She is very good with the ball at her feet which will allow us to play out of the back efficiently. Kaitlyn will impact us immediately."

Madison Hogue
Saltillo High School

"Madison is pure attacker, her ability to strike the ball and her awareness in the final third is fantastic. Her movement off the ball separates her from other forwards, she is able to constantly create space for herself along with creating space for her teammates. In high school, Madison has scored 39 goals. She scored 24 goals her sophomore year of high school leading her team to an 18-2 record. She then missed her junior year of high school due to an injury but is back in form for her senior year looking to add onto her goals total. She is an excellent attacker who will step in and be successful here at Holmes."

Morgan McKinion
Brandon High School

"Morgan is a great keeper. She has great height and is able to cut off angles very well.  She is someone that commands the field very well and makes her teammates feel confident when she is in the goal. Her distribution is great from her hands and her feet."

Bailey O'Connor
Oxford High School

"Bailey is technically very sound. She can read attackers very well and is not scared to come off of her line. Her side to side movement and ability to get down is fantastic. She is an excellent organizer as well. She helped lead Oxford to a state title her junior year. The biggest thing that sets Bailey apart is her work ethic. It is something you can't teach."

Jazmin Roman
Forest High School
Center Mid

"Jazmin plays with a lot of flare! She is very crafty in the center of the field and is able to create space for herself in the attack by her creativity. She is very good at getting other players in positions to score. She plays with a lot of grit and that is something we love about Jaz. She will be able to help us in the center of field and will become a key player for the Lady Bulldogs as her game evolves."

Cheyla Watkins
Pearl High School
Center Back/ Outside Back

"Cheyla is a defender who does the "dirty work". She cleans everything up, she covers incredible amounts of ground because of her pace and her ability to read angles. She is very good distributing the ball from the back as well. You always need a player with her kind of pace in the back. We are very excited to have Cheyla in our back line next year."

"This is a fantastic group of players as a whole," Women's Associate Head Coach Wesley Noble said. "Every one of these are excellent and will impact us upon their arrival. The thing I am most excited about is the type of people each one of them are. They are perfect examples of what we stand for on the field but most importantly off the field. They will fit in great at Holmes!  We have a great group returning and adding these incoming freshmen will give us a chance get back to the playoffs and compete for the North Division and Region XXIII title."
