South All-Stars defeat the North All-Stars, 2-1

RIDGELAND --- Holmes Community College served as host of the 2017 MACJC Men's and Women's Soccer All-Star Matches on Saturday at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland. The South Division won the match 2-1.

Holmes had four players chosen to participate in the match --- Brooke Burrell, Madison Deslatte, Kendal Walsh and Britain Welzien. Walsh was unable to participate due to illness.

Deslatte scored in the first half off an assist from Holmes' Britain Welzien to put the North up 1-0. Pearl River's Caroline Grafe tied the match in the second half, and Gulf Coast's Casey Lafontaine hit the game winner in the final minute to pull out the win for the South.

Hinds' Holley Moore was chosen as the game's MVP for the North while Lafontaine was chosen as the South's MVP.
