Holmes Community College sophomore tennis player Brenda Orduna Arvizu of Kosciusko recently signed a national letter of intent with Blue Mountain College.
Blue Mountain, located in Blue Mountain, Miss., has begun several new programs for the 2016-17 school year including women's tennis. Arvizu played singles and doubles at Holmes.
"Signing with Blue Mountain should be a great experience," Arvizu said. "I'm going to keep playing tennis which I love to do. It's something new to the school, and I'm excited to be one of the first ones on their team, and I'm looking forward to it."
Arvizu said she feels her serve is one of her strengths and playing doubles. "I love being able to play with a partner," Arvizu said. "We always get along and communicate which are good things to have while you are playing.
"Holmes has been amazing," she said. "I have met so many good friends. I've seen and done so many things that I didn't do in high school. I've been a lot of places and made a lot of friends. I think it was a good decision coming here."
