Doyle and Giles named Holmes CC's Players of the Week

GOODMAN --- Holmes Community College sophomore forward Kristen Phillips on the women's soccer team and sophomore defensive back Dandreyus Giles on the football team have been named Holmes Community College Players of the Week following their play last week.

Doyle, a New Albany product from New Albany, scored two goals and had two assists in a 1-1 week last week. Holmes defeated Parkland, 9-0, and fell 3-1 to Northeast, Neb. 

Giles, a Holmes Central product from Lexington, had another big night Thursday in the Bulldogs' first home game. He finished the night with 10 tackles including seven solos and added another interception from 30 yards out for a touchdown. In two games, he has three interceptions and two INTs for touchdowns. Holmes won 15-13 and will face Coahoma on Thursday night in Goodman.
