Sims, Segrest named Holmes CC's Players of the Week

GOODMAN --- Holmes freshman midfielder Tyler Grace Sims on the women's soccer team and sophomore linebacker E.J. Segrest on the football team have been named Holmes CC's Players of the Week for their play last week.

Sims, a Northwest Rankin product from Brandon, scored two goals in Holmes' 1-1 week last week. Holmes lost to Pearl River, 2-1 and defeated East Central, 3-2 on Friday.

Segrest, a Copiah Academy product from Terry, finished Saturday's game at Jones with 15 tackles (8 solos, 7 assists) and 2.5 tackles for loss. The Bulldogs fell to 2-3 overall with a 38-28 loss to Jones.
