Samonski, Purnell named Holmes CC Players of the Week

GOODMAN --- Holmes sophomore midfielder Brooklynn Samonski on the women's soccer team and sophomore receiver Tristin Purnell on the football team have been named Holmes CC's Player of the Week for their play last week.

Samonksi, a Nottingham, N.J. product from Nottingham, scored two goals last week in No. 4 Holmes' 2-1 win over No. 2 Northwest. 

Purnell, a Winona product from Mathiston, had six catches for 124 yards including a 77-yard touchdown catch. The Bulldogs fell to Itawamba, 44-28.
