Korhonen, Rochell named Players of the Week

GOODMAN --- Holmes sophomore forward Emma Korhonen on the women's soccer team and freshman forward Markalon Rochell on the men's basketball team have been named Holmes CC's Player of the Week for their play last week.

Korhonen, a Foley product from Foley, Ala., scored two goals for the Lady Bulldogs in NJCAA Tournament play. Holmes won their pool games over Rock Valley, 3-0, and Gulf Coast, 1-0, before falling in the semifinals against Heartland, 2-1. 

Rochell, a Maumelle, Ark. product from Maumelle, Ark. scored 24 points in two games last week. He scored 23 points in Saturday's 68-67 win over Southern-Shreveport. The Bulldogs also defeated Delgado on Thursday night, 77-59.
