Bulldogs split opening series with Kaskaskia
GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs opened the season this weekend versus Kaskaskia and split four games winning twice Saturday and fall twice on Friday.
Holmes, 2-2, will host Paris Junior College on Friday at 1 p.m. in a doubleheader.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs won 6-5 and 12-2.
In game one Saturday, Warner Young got the start. Eli Lowe, Lane Robertson and Britt Stringer each pitched in relief with Stringer picking up the win. Charley Dunn led with four hits while Jaxon Cripps and J.R. North each had two hits. A.J. Arguello, Dunn and North doubled.
In game two, Tyler Bickett got the start and the win. Braxton Demopulos pitched in relief. Ethan Trimble and North each had two hits with Trimble adding a double.
On Friday, the Bulldogs fell 10-8 and 8-6.
In game one, Mac Griffin got the start and suffered the loss. Carter Rose also pitched in the game. Tyler Martin, Arguello and Trimble each had two hits with Martin and Trimble adding solo homeruns and Martin and Arguello each adding a double.
In game two, Ethan Trimble got the start. Lane Robertson and Britt Stringer each pitched in the game with Stringer suffering the loss. Sam Roy, Tre Rainey and Jack Harkins each had two hits with Rainey adding a homerun and Roy adding a double.
