Holmes splits with Gulf Coast

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split two games here Saturday with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College winning 8-2 and falling 5-2.

Holmes travels to Coahoma on Wednesday at 1/4 p.m.'

In game one, Tyler Bickett got the start and picked up the win. Bickett threw seven innings while Mac Griffin went the final two. Ethan Walker led with three hits including a homerun and two doubles. Ethan Trimble, Jaxon Cripps and Wes Bishop each had two hits with Cripps adding two homeruns while Trimble and Bishop added a double.

In game two, Trimble got the start and suffered the loss. Warner Young also pitched in the game. Trimble led with two hits. Charley Dunn added a homerun.

Against East Mississippi on Tuesday, the Bulldogs split winning the first game, 10-8, and falling in the second game, 10-8.

In game one, Landon Hoshell got the start. Warner Young and Lane Robertson each pitched in the game with Young picking up the win. Jaxon Cripps led with three hits including two doubles. Chase Peeples, Ethan Walkker and A.J. Arguello each had two hits with Peeples having a homerun and a triple with five RBIs. Charley Dunn and Jack Harkins each had a double.

In game two, Mac Griffin got the start and suffered the loss. Eli Lowe, Braxton Demopulos, Britt Stringer and Ethan Trimble all pitched in the game. Cripps led with three hits including a homerun and a double with four RBIs. Trimble had two hits including a double. Ethan Walker added a homerun.  

Against Pearl River on March 6, the Bulldogs fell 10-0. Bickett suffered the loss. Lane Robertson and Eli Lowe also pitched in the game. 

Against Jones and Itawamba on March 3, the Bulldogs fell 12-2 and 4-3. Against Jones, Hoshell suffered the loss. Stringer and Demopulos also pitched in the game. Against Itawamba, Griffin got the start and suffered the loss. Young also pitched in the game. Cripps led with two hits.
