Bulldogs fall twice to Southwest

SUMMIT --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell twice here Saturday to the Southwest Mississippi Community College Bears, 6-2 and 14-5.

Holmes will host Northeast Wednesday at 3/ 6 p.m.

In game one, Ethan Trimble got the start and went 5 2/3 innings and suffered the loss. Braxton Demopulos also pitched in the game. Chase Peeples, Charley Dunn, Jack Harkins and A.J. Arguello each had a hit.

In game two, Tyler Bickett got the start and suffered the loss. Daigle, Lane Robertson, Landon Hoshell and Carter Rose also pitched in the game. J.R. North led with two hits with North, Trimble and Sam Roy adding a double.

Against Coahoma Wednesday, the Bulldogs won 12-5 and 7-6.

In game one, Landon Hoshell got the start and went 3 1/3 innings. Lane Robertson came into the game and picked up the win in relief. He went 5 2/3 innings and gave up one run on four hits. Ethan Walker and Drew Daigle led with three hits with Daigle adding two doubles and Walker one. Jaxon Cripps and Wes Bishop had two hits with Cripps adding a homerun and Bishop adding a double.

In game two, Mac Griffin got the start and went five innings. Warner Young went the final two innings and picked up the win. He had a strikeout in the game. Jack Harkins led with three hits while Walker added two with Harkins adding a double. A.J. Arguello had a homerun while Daigle added a double.
