Co-Lin defeats Bulldogs, 47-14

GOODMAN — Six rushing touchdowns by the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves proved to be the difference here Thursday night in the non-division contest as Co-Lin won the game, 47-14.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 0-2 on the season and will play Coahoma next Thursday night in Goodman. Gametime is 7 p.m. and can be heard on 101.1 FM, 100.1 FM, 103.9 FM, breezynews.com, wyab.com and watched live at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/bulldogs-football-2011.

The Wolves got up 17-0 before the Bulldogs got on the scoreboard. The Wolves went up 3-0 with 8:13 left in the first quarter on a Nolan Long 34-yard field goal. Co-Lin quarterback Chandler Rogers scored from a yard out with 12:46 left in the second quarter. Long's extra point made the score 10-0.

On Holmes' next possession, the snap sailed over Holmes punter Mitchell Huff's head and was kicked out of the back of the endzone from the three yard line. After a penalty moved the ball to the one, Co-Lin's Danny Hobbs scored from a yard out. Long's PAT makes the score 17-0.

The Bulldogs then got on the scoreboard with 4:48 left in the first half when Ladarius Redditt scored around left end from seven yards out. The Bulldogs attempted a pass and Huff's pass was intercepted by Davian Noble of Co-Lin, who raced in for two points, making the score, 19-6.

Hobbs then scored again for the Wolves from nine yards out with 6:36 left in the third quarter. Long's extra point made the score 26-6.

The Bulldogs then answered the touchdown with one of their own when Hamner found Jamel Johnson in the right corner of th endzone. Hamner was intercepted by Noble, who tried to score another two points, but Noble fumbled the ball away, and Bulldog offensive tackle Shawn Pee raced in from some 15 yards away for the Bulldogs' two points to make the score, 26-14.

Another C0-Lin rusher Robert Wells then scored from 27 yards out with 9:58 to go in the game. Long's extra point made the score 33-14. Two rushes by Duwone Harris resulted in scores in the fourth quarter. His first touchdown came from 17 yards with 8:20 left in the game while the other came with 2:14 to go when he scored from a yard out. Long's extra points ended the scores at 47-14.

Redditt had eight carries for 42 yards in the game for the Bulldogs.
