Bulldogs get 33-10 Homecoming victory over the Trojans
GOODMAN ---- Ladarius Redditt scored two rushing touchdowns and Jacorie Ousley took a kickoff back 104 yards to help give the Holmes Community College Bulldogs the 33-10 Homecoming win over the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans.
With the win, the Bulldogs went to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in the North Division. The Bulldogs travel to Fulton on Thursday night to play Itawamba Community College in a North Division contest.
Redditt's first score came in the first quarter from 10 yards out. Mitchell Huff's kick was good giving the Bulldogs the 7-0 lead.
Mississippi Delta's Michael Jones evened the score in the second quarter when Bulldog quarterback Matt Hamner lost the handle on a pass attempt and Jones grabbed the ball away and raced 38 yards for the score. Ridge Rochell's extra point was good.
On the ensuing kickoff, Ousley muffed the ball four yards deep into his own endzone. He then picked the ball up and raced down the home sidelines basically untouched for the touchdown. Huff's kick was blocked making the score 13-7 in favor of the Bulldogs.
The Trojans got their final three points of the game in the second quarter when Rochell connected from 44 yards out.
The Bulldogs then got the scoring started off early when Hamner found Jonathan Rumph from 23 yards out. Huff's kick made the score 20-10 early in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Huff connected on two field goals. His first game early in the quarter from 18 yards out while the last one came late in the game from 36 yards out.
Redditt's final touchdown run came from two yards out. Huff added the extra point.
Hamner finished 18-of-22 for 194 yards and a touchdown. Rumph had seven catches for 94 yards. Redditt had 18 carries for 74 yards while Ousley had 15 carries for 47 yards. The Bulldogs finished with 156 yards on 46 carries.
