Three Bulldogs named All-MACCC North Division
Three Holmes Community College Bulldogs --- Porter Magandy, Brandon Cross and Blake Backel --- have been named to the All-MACCC First Team for the North Division following the 2020 season.
Magandy, a 6'3 250 pound offensive lineman, of Madison came to Holmes from Germantown High School. The stalwart along the Bulldogs' offensive line for two seasons was named First Team Offensive Lineman for the North Division.
Cross, a 5'11 185 pound defensive back, of Orlando, Fla. came to Holmes from Jones High School, Fla. He finished the season with 20 tackles including a fumble recovery and one interception. He was named First Team Defensive Back for the North Division.
Backel, a 5'8 170 pound placekicker, of Madison came to Holmes from Madison Central High School. He played slot receiver as a freshman before transitioning to placekicker this season. He finished the season going three-for-three on field goals with a long of 46. He was five-of-six on extra points. Backel was named First Team Placekicker for the North Division.
