Ferrill named Special Teams Coordinator/DL Coach

Hattiesburg native Tommy Ferrill has joined the Holmes Community College football staff serving as Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Assistant Coach in charge of the defensive line.

Prior to Holmes Community College, Ferrill coached tight ends at Murray State University for two seasons.

He went to Murray State after coaching at Jackson Academy, where he helped lead the Raiders to 35 in four years including a MAIS 6A State Championship Game appearance in 2021 and three semifinal appearances.

Before his time at Jackson Academy, Ferrill was Head Coach at Germantown High School in Tennessee and served as an assistant coach at Horn Lake High School for five years winning the 2018 6A title. He coached at Biloxi High School for four years and East Mississippi Community College for five years as well. At East Mississippi, he won the 2009 MACJC State Championship and the Mississippi Bowl.

After his high school playing career at Hattiesburg High School, he went on to Mississippi State University, where he played tight end from 2001-03 appearing in 22 games. Tommy has a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's in technology from Mississippi State.

Ferrill and his wife, Amanda, have three children, Roman, Lucia, and Thomas.
