MOORHEAD --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs went to 1-1 in the North Division here Monday night with a 66-60 win over the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans.
With the win, the Bulldogs went to 6-4 overall. Holmes hosts Hinds in non-division game on Thursday at 8 p.m.
The Bulldogs led by as much as 15 points in the first half and held a 34-21 at halftime.
Two Travis Johnson free throws with 12:48 to play gave the Bulldogs the 17 point lead in the second half. Mississippi Delta pulled within five points with 32 seconds to go in the game, but the Bulldogs held on for the win as DeAndre Scott added a late free throw in the game.
Scott led the Bulldogs with 23 points while Tamarico Wilson followed with 21. Kelvin Smith had six rebounds while Demarcus Lewis, Scott and Wilson eah had five.
