GOODMAN --- Despite 27 points from freshman guard Enitial Rucker, the Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell 70-63 here Monday night to the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers in a key North Division contest.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 8-9 overall and 2-4 in the North Division. The Bulldogs begin Round Two of the division schedule on Thursday night against East Mississippi Community College in Scooba. Gametime is 7:30 p.m.
Rucker finished the game with 6-of-11 shooting from behind the three-point arc. Demarcus Lewis followed with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Northwest led 34-32 at halftime and by as much as seven points in the second half. Holmes led by six mid-way through the first half.
