GOODMAN --- Holmes Community College sophomore Cedric Harper tipped in a missed shot for the Bulldogs with 27 seconds to go to give the Bulldogs the 77-76 lead and the win over the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers in Thursday night's MACJC North Division contest here.

Holmes held a 10-point lead in the first half at 37-27 and led 37-29 at halftime. The Rangers outscored the Bulldogs in the second half, 47-40, but the Bulldogs held on for the win after falling behind in the second half. Northwest led by 10 points, 68-58, with 5:44 left in the game.
For the game, the Bulldogs shot 40.7 percent from the floor and 73.5 percent from the free throw line.
Daryl Macon led the Bulldogs with 19 points. He hit 12 out of 13 free throws in the contest. Xavier Williams followed with 13 points and led with eight rebounds.
