CLARKSDALE --- Freshman Justin Johnson had a double-double here Thursday night against the Coahoma Community College Tigers leading the Holmes Community College Bulldogs to an 88-76 win.
With the win, the Bulldogs went to 9-7 overall and 3-2 in the North Division. Holmes hosts East Mississippi on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. You can watch the game live at www.holmesccmedia.com or listen at breezynews.com. The Bulldogs will travel to Itawamba at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Holmes led 45-33 at halftime before each team scored 43 points in the second half. Holmes shot 59.3 percent from the floor, 50 percent from the three-point line and 81 percent from the free-throw line.
Johnson was 10-of-10 from the floor with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Mikkel Norment had 19 points while Trevais Spencer had 17 and Keith Gilmore had 13.
