RIDGELAND --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs scored in the first 45 seconds here to jump out in front of the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers and went on to win, 3-1, picking up their first North Division win of the season.
With the win, the Bulldogs went to 3-3-1 overall and 1-2 in the North Division with the win. Holmes travels to East Central on Friday before returning home to play Tuesday against Southwest at 3 p.m.
Juan Flores got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard first with 43 seconds played off an assist from Rene Saenz. Holmes went ahead 2-0 on a goal by Garrett Watson in the 34th minute.
Northwest pulled to within 2-1 on a goal by Amadou Dia in the 47th minute. Jimmy Doonan scored in the 81st minute off an assist from Tristan Anderson to seal the win.
