Bulldogs defeat Rangers, 3-1; secure playoff berth

SENATOBIA --- Holmes sophomore Macauley Gibson scored two goals here Friday to help propel the Holmes Community College Bulldogs to a 3-1 win over the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers.

With the win, the Bulldogs went to 8-5-1 overall and 4-3 in the North Division. The Bulldogs play their final regular season match at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The match is scheduled for Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland but may be moved to the field at the Ridgeland Campus.

Jamarius Gladney got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard in the 13th minute when he scored an unassisted goal. Gibson then scored his first goal of the day in the 24th minute on an unassisted goal. He added his second goal in the 46th minute on an assistant from Gladney off a rebound on a free kick.

Northwest's Ryan Maniccia scored on an assist from Armando Barron in the 64th minute off a rebound.
