DECATUR --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs improved to 2-4 on the season and 2-1 in the North Division with a 4-2 win over the East Central Community College Warriors here Friday.
Holmes will continue division play on Monday in Ridgeland at 2 p.m. vs. Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Lando Nichols put the Bulldogs up 1-0 in the 23rd minute on a penalty kick. The Bulldogs scored again in the 37th minute on a goal from Darrell Grantham on an assist from Andres Mendez to go up 2-0. The Bulldogs added another goal in the 41st minute on a goal from Mendez on an assist from Marcel Hopson, and the Bulldog led 3-0 at halftime.
The Warriors answered in the 59th minute with two consecutive goals to cut the lead to 3-2. Grantham scored again on an assist from Mendez on a corner kick in the 63rd minute to end all scoring at 4-2.
