Bulldogs begin soccer season tomorrow at Southwest

The Holmes Community College Bulldogs will begin their season tomorrow at Southwest Mississippi Community College at 4 p.m.

The Bulldogs return eight players from last year's playoff team to this season's roster.

Returners include: goalkeepers, Jordan Stevens (Blacksburg, Va., Blacksburg, Va.) and Armando Barron (Ridgeland, Ridgeland); midfielders, Grayson Dale (Grenada, Grenada), Alejandro Flores (Kosciusko, Kosciusko), Kyle Kirtley (Brandon, Northwest Rankin) and Christopher Solano (Canton, Canton); and forwards, Jireh Green (Brandon, Brandon) and Alfredo Marin (Kosciusko, Kosciusko).

Stevens was an All-MACCC First Team selection last season. He played 1153 minutes in net and had 111 saves and gave up 36 goals.

Newcomers include: defenders, Mikey Elinski (Jackson, Jackson Academy), Cooper Herrington (Brandon, Brandon), Darell Lazo (Pearl, Pearl); Brandin Moore (Picayune, Picayune) and Clint Roberts (Florence, Florence); forwards, Kagoma Egide (Mobile, Southwest CC) and Nolan Owens (Natchez, Adams County Christian); midfielders, Reed Bourne (Vicksburg, Vicksburg Catholic), Niyonizigiye Claude (Mobile, Ala., Davidson, Ala.), Adam Fuller (Diamondhead, St. Stanislaus), Josh Heflin (Florence, Florence); Kevin Johnson Rodriguez (Vardaman, Vardaman), Layton Levingston (Brandon, Brandon), Bryan Lopez (Morton, Morton) and Bienvenue Sunzu (Mobile, Ala., Davidson, Ala.).
