Marion, Ala. completes season sweep of the Lady Bulldogs
MARION, Ala. --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs had their chances here Saturday against Marion, Ala. but came up short losing the first game, 0-2, and the second game, 4-6.
With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-5 on the season. Tuesday's game with Pearl River has been rained out and moved to March 6. The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to play on Saturday versus Bossier Parish, La. at 1 p.m. and Hinds Community College at 3 p.m. in Raymond. The Lady Bulldogs then return home on Tuesday, Feb. 19, versus Jones County at 3 and 5 p.m.
In game one, Kelsey Marter went the distance for the Lady Bulldogs in six innings of work striking out five but suffered the loss. Katherine Pennington, Charneissa Gordon, Katie Johnston and Karina Brown each had one hit for the Lady Bulldogs.
In game two, Johnston suffered the loss striking out two in 4 1/3 innings. Alecia McDaniel and Kaitlyn Hicks each had two hits. Lauren Tharp added a double, while Kelsey Marter and Michelle Gregory each had a hit.
