Lady Bulldogs split with Lady Bears

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs split two games here Monday with Southwest Mississippi Community College winning 6-4 and falling 5-4 in 10 innings.

Holmes travels to Copiah-Lincoln on Saturday at 1/3 p.m.

In game one, Elleigh Willis got the start and picked up the win. She went seven innings and gave up four runs on six hits with two strikeouts and two walks. Willis and Lanie Phillips each had three hits while AnnaLeigh Jones added two. Phillips had two doubles while Leah Kinard added a homerun.

In game two, Emmagail Kelley got the start and 4 1/3 innings. She gave up four runs seven hits. Kasandra Gaona went 5 2/3 innings and picked up the loss. She gave up one run on four hits with two walks. Willis and Iris Farve had two hits with Farve added a double and Jones adding a homerun.

Against Delta on April 4, the Lady Bulldogs picked up two wins, 8-0 and 3-1.

In game one, Willis went six innings and gave up one hit with five strikeouts. Katelynn Gipson and Jones each had two hits while Phillips, Maycee Kngiht and Farve added a double each.

In game two, Kelley went seven innings and gave up one run on seven hits with two strikeouts. Knight had three hits while Farve added two. Farve had a homerun while Knight added two doubles.
