FULTON --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs opened the 2017-18 North Division campaign with a 58-52 win over the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians here Monday night.
With the win, the Lady Bulldogs went to 5-3 on the season. Holmes has finished their first semester schedule and will resume play on Jan. 6 at Delgado at 2 p.m. and will return home on Jan. 9 vs. Hinds at 6 p.m.
Itawamba led 17-11 and 29-28 at halftime. Holmes led 42-41 after three periods before the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Indians, 16-11, in the fourth period to pull out the win.
Kamelia Lacy led the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points while Brittany Webster had 10. Nina Carpenter led the Lady Bulldogs in rebounds with 10 while Webster had six.
