Three Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs --- Jordyn Manning, Morgan Williams and Jalaceia Smith --- scored in double figures here tonight in the season opener as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Northeast Mississippi Community College, 64-56.
The Lady Bulldogs will be on the road Monday night vs. Coahoma. Gametime in Clarksdale is 6 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs led the Lady Tigers, 27-11, after one period of play and 40-24 at halftime. Northeast outscored Holmes, 16-9, in the third to make the score 49-40 after three. The Lady Tigers then outscored the Lady Bulldogs, 16-15, in the fourth period but it wasn't enough as the Lady Bulldogs held on to the eight-point win.
Manning led the Lady Bulldogs with 16 points while Williams and Smith each had 11. Tniniyah Jones led the Lady Bulldogs with 11 rebounds.
