Holmes knocks off No. 2 Jones, 4-1

RIDGELAND --- The No. 7 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs knocked off No. 2 Jones College here Friday, 4-1.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-2 on the season. Holmes travels to Itawamba on Tuesday.

Jones took an early 1-0 lead before the Lady Bulldogs tied the match at one just a minute later on a goal from Kristen Phillips on an assist from KK Morris.

The Lady Bulldogs then went ahead for good in the third minute on a goal from Bailee Fairley on an assist from Phillips.

Anna Beth Korhonen scored on a Brooklyn Samonski assist in the 19^th minute to put Holmes up 3-1. The final goal of the match came in the 43^rd minute on a goal from Phillips on an assist from Akala Jacobs.
