Seven Holmes Lady Bulldogs soccer players sign with four-year universities
Holmes Community College is proud to announce that seven standout members of the Lady Bulldogs soccer team have signed to continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year universities. Signees included Sammi Doyle, Christina Guzman, Bailee Fairley, Stevie Kerns, Kristen Phillips, Addi Roberts and Olivia Tribolet.
Sophomore forward Sammi Doyle will continue her career at Nicholls State University, a Division I institution in Thibodaux, Louisiana, competing in the Southland Conference. Doyle, a New Albany High School alumna, notched four goals and four assists this season, totaling 12 points. Additionally, she was inducted into the Holmes Ridgeland Campus Hall of Fame. Doyle is the daughter of P.J. and Stephanie Doyle.
Sophomore defender and team captain Christina Guzman signed with Lamar University, a Division I program in Beaumont, Texas, competing in the Southland Conference. Lamar has secured the conference championship in two of the past three years. Guzman, a Florence High School alumna, contributed two goals and 12 assists this season and was named to the NJCAA All-American Second Team and First Team All-MACCC. She was also inducted into the Holmes Ridgeland Campus Hall of Fame. Guzman is the daughter of Miguel and Maria Guzman.
Sophomore forward Bailee Fairley is set to join the University of West Alabama, a Division II program in Livingston, Alabama, competing in the Gulf South Conference. Fairley, a West Lauderdale High School alumna hailing from Collinsville, recorded 16 goals and 10 assists this season, amassing 42 points. She is the daughter of Denitra Hicks and Vaston Fairley.
Sophomore midfielder Stevie Kerns has committed to Belhaven University, a Division III school in Jackson, competing in the Collegiate Conference of the South. The Blazers were conference finalists in their most recent season. Kerns, a Gulfport native and West Harrison High School graduate, contributed one goal and four assists during the 2024 season. She was also named to the MACCC Academic All-State Team. Kerns is the daughter of Steven and Lori Kerns.
Sophomore forward Kristen Phillips will join the University of West Florida (UWF), a Division II school in Pensacola, Florida, competing in the Gulf South Conference. UWF recently won the conference championship, finishing with a 17-1-4 record and reaching the NCAA Elite Eight. Phillips, a West Lauderdale High School graduate from Collinsville, led Holmes with 22 goals and 12 assists, totaling 56 points. She earned NJCAA All-American Second Team and First Team All-MACCC honors. Phillips is the daughter of Chris and John Porter.
Goalkeeper Addi Roberts has signed with Belhaven University, a Division III institution in Jackson, competing in the Collegiate Conference of the South. The Belhaven Blazers were conference finalists in their most recent season. Roberts, a Jackson Academy graduate from Florence, started 13 games for Holmes, providing a strong presence in goal. She is the daughter of James and Stacy Roberts.
Forward Olivia Tribolet has signed with Gardner-Webb University, a Division I school in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, competing in the Big South Conference. Tribolet, a Madison Central High School graduate, tallied 10 goals and five assists this season, contributing 25 points. She is the daughter of Scott Tribolet.
"We are incredibly proud of these young ladies and all their accomplishments!" Head Coach Wesley Noble said. "They helped this program reach back-to-back final fours and represented us off the field just as we hoped they would. They are all moving on to great programs that I believe they can step in and impact straight away. We, as a staff, are forever grateful they chose to be Bulldogs along their journey!"
